  2. Dramatic Experience/Entrance • This is the 3rd steps in Dale’s Cone of Experience. • Something that is catches and holds our attention and has an emotional impact. • Something that is stirring or affecting or moving.

  3. Formal Dramatized Experience • Plays – depict life, character, or culture or a combination of all the three. • Pageants – usually community dramas that are based on local history, presented by local actors.

  4. Less Formal Dramatized Experience • Pantomime • Tableau • Puppets • Role Playing

  5. PANTOMIME Is the art of conveying story through bodily movements only. It depends on the movement of the actors.

  6. TABLEAU A French word means PICTURE A picture-like scene composed of people against a background. Often used to celebrate Independence Day, Christmas, and United Nations Day.

  7. PUPPET Can presents ideas with extremely simplicity, without elaborate scenery or costume, yet effective. Is an inanimate object, constructed of wood cloth, plastic, cardboard, papier-mâché, or any type of material, brought to life and personified by the puppeter.

  8. Pageant Usually community dramas that are based on local history, presented by local actors

  9. Types of Puppet: • Shadow Puppet • Rod Puppet • Hand Puppet • Glove- and- finger Puppet • Marionettes

  10. SHADOW PUPPET Are generally flat characters created from heavy paper or cardboard and shown behind the a screen. Are cut-out fingers which are held between a source a flight and a translucent screen or scrim.

  11. Hand Puppet The puppet’s head is operated by the forefinger and thumb being used to animate the puppet hands The most common type of puppet .

  12. Rod Puppet Flat cut out fingers tacked to a stick, with one or more movable parts, and operated from below the stage level by wire rods or slender sticks.

  13. Glove-and finger puppets Make use of old gloves to which small costumed figure are attached.

  14. Marionettes flexible, jointed puppets operated by strings or wires attached to a cross bar and maneuvered from directly above the stage. Marionettes are generally fashioned from wood and resemble a human body.
