The digestive system breaks food down into smaller pieces that the body can use.
Digestion begins in the mouth where food is taken in, chewed and swallowed.
Once food makes it to the stomach, acids continue to break it down!
Food then goes to the small intestine, and liquid from the liver breaks it down EVEN MORE!!
Waste from the left over food particles then go the large intestine, and exit the body through the rectum.
