  3. What has not changed? • No texting, social networking or gaming anywhere • No devices in hallways • Commons use limited to audio or educational work • Media Center and Study Hall use remains at the discretion of the supervisors • Internet access via CHS network only

  4. Sessions will expire automatically after 8 hours • Sessions will expire after 30 minutes of inactivity • Guest access is Internet only • Printing is not possible • Network drive access is available through MyHDrive.com • Internet access is filtered for content • Internet access is monitored • The technology department does not support personal student devices.

  5. Mobile Phones • Use of mobile phones for any voice or text communication is not permitted during school hours. This includes the use of social media. • Mobile phones may possess advanced functions for educational use including eReaders, video/audio functions, word processing, etc. Mobile phones with these functions may be used educationally in a classroom, study hall, and lunch period as permitted and directed by individual teachers/school personnel.

  6. Consequences for Violation of the BYOT Student Guideline Violation of the BYOT Student Guideline as outlined in this document will result in the following disciplinary actions: 1st Offense................................Friday Detention or written warning and parent/guardian must pick up device 2nd Offense...............................Friday Detention, parent/guardian must pick up device 3rd Offense..............................1-3 days I.S.A.P., parent/guardian must pick up device, loss of BYOT privilege for the semester. Repeated Offenses..................1-5 days O.S.S., parent/guardian must pick up device, loss of BYOT privilege for the remainder of the school year.

  7. District-Level BYOT Policy items not covered in the Acceptable Use Policy or this Guideline : • Approved devices must be in silent mode while on school grounds, unless otherwise allowed by a staff member. • Individuals may not use devices to capture, record, transmit or post audio, video or photos of other students, faculty, or staff, unless otherwise allowed by a teacher or school official. • Individuals are responsible for servicing their personal electronic devices. The District will not service, repair or maintain any non-district owned technology brought to, and used at school. • Individuals should strive to maintain appropriate bandwidth for school-related work and communications. The District does not guarantee connectivity or quality of connection with personal devices.

  8. Señora Broda’s Rules: • No phones, tablets, or any other electronic devices are allowed to be out of students’ book bags without teacher approval. • Students may not have headphones or ear buds, etc. around their necks or behind their ears during class. • All backpacks, purses, or any similar type of bag have to be under the desks at all times. They may not be on top of a student’s desk or on students’ laps. • Students may not use their devices for anything other than assignments for Spanish class. This includes checking sports teams’ stats, grades, personal photos, etc. • Any infraction of any of these rules will result in the implementation of the district’s discipline policy.
