  2. MANUAL CONFIGURATION FOR SYMBIAN AND JAVA PHONES.We are using Nokia phones as a case study.

  3. STEP 1: Click on settings in your phone.

  4. STEP 2: Click on connection setting.

  5. STEP 3: When it opens, click on new access point.

  6. STEP 4: Then fill the form as it is in s40(Your Phone) configuration.

  7. STEP 5: Click on option, then click advance setting.

  8. MTN MANUAL CONFIGURATION. Name : MTN IP Address: 10.199.212.2 Port: 8080 Username: web Password: web Access point name (APN): web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net Homepage: wap.mtnonline.com

  9. ETISALAT Manual Settings. Name: ETISALAT Access point name (APN): etisalat IP Address: 10.71.170.5 Port: 8080 Username: (Leave blank) Password: (Leave blank) homepage : http://mobile.etisalat.com.ng

  10. For Glo Wap Manual Configuration (With Internet subscription bundle). • Account name: Glo Flat • Access point name: gloflat • IP Address: 10.100.98.22 • Port: 3130 • Username: flat • Password: flat • For Glo Wap Manual Configuration (Direct without any subscription plan)

  11. AIRTEL Manual Settings. • Name: Airtel NG • Access point name: internet.ng.airtel.com • Username: wap • Password: wap

  12.  AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION FOR NETWORKS.

  13. For your MTN 3G/GPRS SETTINGS. • Follow this step ; • 1. Create new message (SMS) • 2. Type: SETTINGS to 3888

  14. For your GLO WAP & MMS SETTINGS. • Follow this step ; • 1.Create new message • 2.Type: Your Phone Model to 927 or 667 Example: Nokia X2 to 927

  15. For your EISALAT SETTINGS. • Follow this step ; • 1. Create new message • 2. Type: SETTINGS to 970

  16. For your AIRTEL GPRS SETTINGS. • Follow this step ; • 1. Create new message • 2.Type: Your Phone model (Nokia X2) to 232

  17. For Windows 8, I-phone, Blackberry and most Android phones. All you have to do is to insert your sim into your phone and it will automatically start browsing. Note: You need to have an active internet bundle or data plan before you can browse.

  18. How to Setup Internet on BlackBerry phones.

  19. On the BlackBerry handheld, go to “Option” or “Settings.

  20. Click on “Advanced system settings”.

  21. Click on “TCP/IP”.

  22. Then fill in APN with the provided APN listed below, that is appropriate for your carrier (Network you are using). • MTN -web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net • GLO - glomms • ZAIN - internet.zain.com.ng • ETISALAT - etisalat

  23. If username or password is not provided, leave it blank. If only the username is provided, then leave the password. • Also, ignore the Gateway IP address, unless your Blackberry specifically has a textbox to enter the IP address (Internet Protocol address) in.

  24. “ APN” means “Access Point Name”. • Once you have saved the APN information, you should reboot your BlackBerry by removing and reinserting the battery. • Run your BlackBerry Internet Software .

  25. Once you have filled this information, your Internet applications should work on your BlackBerry.

  26. TCP/IP makes Internet software work, including chat software: YookosApp, BlackberryMessenger, Yahoo Messenger, Web browsing, etc.

  28. Insert your sim card . • Put on the phone. • Automatically the network provider will send you a notification registering your handheld with your network provider .

  29. For you to browse with your blackberry you MUST subscribe to a data plan on any of the networks (MTN, GLO, ETISALAT, etc.).

  33. Click on “Mobile Networks”.

  34. Then click on “Access Point Names”.

  35. Click the “Menu” button. Then select “New APN”Key in the detail that you find below.

  36. Now you can fill in the necessary details according to the network you are using. • Which are as follow.

  41. After filling your network information into the required spaces. • Click on “menu”. • Then click on “save” to save the settings.

  42. HOW TO GET A BROWSER ON YOUR MOBILE PHONES.We are using Opera mini as a case study.

  44. How to get Opera mini on your devices ( Java and Symbian phones ).

  45. Click on the browser on your mobile device. • When it opens, then type in the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) “m.opera.com”. • Once it’s located, you will see Opera mini for free download click on it and follow the process.

  46. How to get Opera mini on Android phones.

  47. Click on the “play store” on your menu.

  48. Type in opera mini on the search space provided. • Then click on the “search icon” or “Enter”.

  49. Click on anyone of your choice.

  50. When it opens, click on INSTALL.
