The CONTEXT Health: • Pakistan currently spends 0.8 percent of its GDP on health: the lowest such investment in South Asia • Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) 78 (per 1,000 live births) • Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) 276 (per 100,000 live births) Education: • 30% of Pakistan’s population lives in extreme educational poverty with less than 2 years of education. • Around 50% of grade five students cannot read at grade two Standard
