Sport and Recreation SA “Building for Sport & Recreation”

The programme focuses on building sports facilities in rural areas to tackle poverty, promote local employment, and empower communities through sport. Projects are selected based on municipal and provincial priorities and aim to increase women and youth participation. The programme's success is evident through increased employment, community council empowerment, and social impact indicators. The budget allocation method targets provinces based on poverty indices to ensure equitable distribution of funds. The programme's positive outcomes have led to continued support and funding for sports equipment provision. Future plans involve further project implementation and success stories in various regions.
