What does success look like? Continuously improved performance, especially in priority skills, diverse team membership Effective programme – can pick most recent UK winners with minimal development Critical mass with public impact at The Skills Show – priority skills competing at international standards Cream of talent pool from diverse sources representing all community, public impact All colleges/training providers in all skill areas/many employers participate, staged as community stakeholder events. World-class provision for all Engaged from selection events onwards, following the journey, using school toolkits
Bigger net, finer mesh • Increase participation in mainstream VET and ensure a focus on key competencies to ensure greatest talent goes to heats • Greater alignment and impact of Competition cycle • LSIS guide to embedding competitions in curriculum delivery • NAS and ESF funded drive to accelerate implementation and to develop skill specific case study library • Increase internal and inter-organisational competitions through ESF funding as above; through NAS/Agency dialogue and networks; through refresh of competition delivery toolkit and clear competency lists; through competitor preparation toolkit. • Create cutting edge facilities via Skills Equipment Fund
