Equality • There should be no social restrictions on achievement • Everyone is equal before the law and has a say in governance
Fraternity • Nationalism becomes the binding force • The nation provides for social welfare and in return, citizens serve the nation by paying taxes, obeying the draft, obeying laws, etc. (Social Contract Theory)
