  2. Learning the facts as fact families reduces the enormity of memorizing the tables.   3. Use flash cards with the 4-way method when studying. If the fact on the front of the card is known, place it in a pile. If it is not know, turn the card over and study the four facts.   4. Using a deck of cards • Remove the face cards • Separate the cards into red & black • Turn over a red card & a black card • Multiply together • Write the fact down. Multiplication Card Game

  5. Salute • Play with three students • Two students pick a Card • Without looking at the card, place it on the forehead • The third person of the group calls out the product • Each student says the missing factor • Remove the card from the forehead to check • Alternate the roles

  6. While going from place to place, play a game of facts. • Call out a multiplication or division fact. • Many times you have two or more children who can benefit from practicing the facts. • Make it a competition. • Keep the game to about 5 to 10 problems. • Give lots of praise and encouragement. Travel Practice

  7. Make it fun! • Memorizing facts can be tedious. • Children learn through play—video games, etc. • Give lots of praise—even for small accomplishments.
