The Boston Tea Party By: Haley Rhodes
The Sons of Liberty • The Sons of Liberty was a secret group of most of the men in Boston. • They were against the king. • They (and their families) boycotted British goods and the wives made their own clothing.
The Plan • One day three British ships full of tea, (The Beaver, Eleanor, and Dartmouth) docked at Griffin’s Wharf. • The Son’s of Liberty decided to dump the tea. Wharf = harbor
The Boston Tea Party • The Sons dressed as Indians and boarded the ships. • Angry (about the tax) Sons of Liberty sunk three ships full of tea at Griffin’s Wharf. • As Samuel Adams said, “Grab your tea and shove it.” • The king soon found out there was tea throughout the water. The colonists were in trouble.
