CNA- Certified Nursing Assistant • What do they do? • Feed, bathe and dress patients • Take patient vital signs • Serve meals, make beds and keep rooms clean • Set up medical equipment and assist with some medical procedures • Answer calls for help and observe changes in a patient’s condition or behavior

CNA- Certified Nursing Assistant • CNA Schools • Durham Technical Community College- 9 week or 16 week program, estimated cost of $540 • Triangle Nurse Aide Program- 6 week program, night and day classes with small class size, estimated cost is $500 • Brite Sun Health Training- 4 day program with flexible payment plans, estimated cost of $550 • Optimal Health College- 8 week program with night and day classes, estimated cost $875

Lab- Blood Pressure • Definition: Pressure of the blood against the inner walls of the blood vessels • Blood pressure is controlled by the kidneys and the heart and can indicate dysfunction if high or low • Systolic pressure is the maximum pressure in the blood vessels during ventricular contraction. • Diastolic pressure is the minimum pressure during cardiac relaxation while the heart fills with blood before the next contraction Systolic pressure: 120 mmHg Diastolic pressure: 80 mmHg
