A comprehensive range of assistance including grants, loans and signposting to other dedicated business support providers. • Accessible telephone support available to all businesses operating in the Solent, or with aspirations to relocate to the region, whether looking for support to establish a new start-up, or help to drive forward growth in an established SME. • Expert guidance in LEP funding applications, from assessing suitability to ascertain the best route for business to pursue, to providing pre-submission support on applications including bid-writing and basic sense-checking. • Funding to provide opportunities for both start-up and existing SMEs seeking to grow, and for businesses and other organisations to deliver larger capital projects Business Support From Solent LEP

Start-up Solent • High-Growth Start-ups: Your application must show detailed business forecasts and projections of turnover or employment growth of 20% for the next three years • Capital Investment for the delivery of new processes, products or services and/or developing new markets • Investment Funds from £10,000 up to £100,000 • Fit within LEP Priority Sectors • Designed to help create better, higher-paying jobs, develop skills, talent and innovation, and unleash business growth • The fund can provide up to 40% of total project costs • You must have been registered with Companies House for less than a year, but not have begun trading at the time of application • Proposals must be delivered in the Solent LEP area The Funds:Solent Prosperity Fund

Small Business Expansion Fund • Helping SMEs with ambitions to scale up and unleash further growth potential • Capital Investment for the delivery of new processes, products or services and/or developing new markets • 2 possible routes: • Apply for up to 20% of total project costs, up to a maximum funding contribution of between £10,000 and £100,000 • SMEs with larger, more complex projects can access the Growth Accelerator Programme which provides help to develop business growth plans, and if identified by your business coach as an eligible proposition, you could apply for LEP funding of between £100,000 and £500,000 • Proposals must be delivered in the Solent LEP area • Fit within LEP Priority Sectors Solent Prosperity Fund

Large Projects • For large scale projects from either the public or private sectors • Capital Investment only in the period 2018/19 to 2020/21 • Minimum funding request threshold for Large Project applications is set at £500,000 and the maximum funding request threshold is set at £14m • The focus of this funding route is to invest in projects that can unlock or accelerate housing delivery, employer-led skills projects, improve transport and digital connectivity and deliver infrastructure projects that support growth in our priority sectors • The funding support is being made available in the form of either Grants, Loans or Forward Funding • For private sector projects, a maximum contribution of 20% (subject to state aid) can be made available • For public sector infrastructure and skills infrastructure projects the maximum LEP funding contribution is 70% (subject to state aid) Solent Prosperity Fund
