What happens? • Most varicose veins can sometimes lead to compilations, but are not serious medical problem. • some compilations are: • bleeding form a varicose vein • blood clots • dry, stretched, swollen, itching or scaling skin
What are the signs and symptoms • Large veins that you can see on your skin, mild swelling of your ankles and feet. • Throbbing or cramping in your legs • Discolored skin in the area around the varicose vein • Painful, achy, or heavy legs
Who gets it • Occur in men and women of any age, but mostly affect women in the child bearing years and older people. • Some estimates suggested that about 10-15%of men and 20-25% women suffer from varicose vein.
Are there ways to prevent it • You can limit the discomfort of varicose veins by wearing compression stocking, elevate our legs regularly, and avoid periods of standing or sitting
How is it treated • A simple test called the trendelenburg test can be used to diagnose varicose veins. • Doctors also do test like ultrasounds and venography
What is the prognosis • Depends on the duration of the varicose veins, changes of complications, prospects for recovery, recover and period for varicose veins
