Business News • Stocks or gold? – by Lawrence Lewitinn • Gold was up 5.72% in August while stocks closed the last month down 3.13% • Reason: US military action in Syria makes investors uncertain, so they have turned out of stocks to gold as a safe place. • Interest rates are rising because bonds are being sold for lower prices, which further discounts stocks. • Records say gold is generally higher when traded in, and bound to be a better investment now.
