  2. Overview Analyze important concepts in constitutional law as they relate to decisions of the Supreme Court.

  3. Group Activity • Choose a partner. • Select a Supreme Court case. • Create a PPoint presentation, or Word outline of the case. • File name should be the name of a member of your team, e.g. Valerie_Felix.ppt • Email file to vfelix@laalliance.org

Outline • TITLE OF THE CASE • Team members • ISSUE • State the issue(s) in the case, 1-2 sentences • Should the court…? • CONSTITUTIONAL LAW • Identify the constitutional law(s), 1-2 sentences • FACTS • List the facts (arguments), use bullets • DECISION • Summarize the decision of the Court and reasons given • Provide the results from the vote of the Justices • EFFECT • Explain the effect of the Court’s decision • Do you agree or disagree with the decision of the court? Why? • REFERENCES • MLA format

  6. Individual Activity • List the names of the (9) current Supreme Court Justices. • Next to each Justice, write the President who appointed him or her. • Choose one Justice, past or present, and write a biographical profile. (Must be different from your partner.)
