Assessment objectives • Each exam paper: • 50% Fact recall • 30% Application of skills and knowledge • 20% Analysis and evaluation • Pupils must practise exam questions
Exam question booklets • Each pupil will be given a booklet for each exam that they are sitting; • Booklets currently being used in class but will be sent home soon; • Should be used to practise exam questions; • Mark schemes are in the back; • Revision websites and exam dates on the front.
Don’t forget you examTECHNIQUE: Time; keep an eye on the clock Every mark; write a point for every mark Calculations; show your working out Highlight; highlight keywords in questions Neat; write clearly and neatly Instructions; follow the instructions Question; read the questions carefully Units; check the units Every question; answer every question- a guess is better than nothing!

How you can support your child • work out a revision timetable for each subject • break revision time into small chunks - hour-long sessions with short breaks at the end of each session often work well • make sure your child has all the essential books and materials • condense notes onto postcards to act as revision prompts • new stationery, highlighters and pens to make revision more interesting • go through school notes with your child or listen while they revise a topic • time your child's attempts at practice papers
