Romantic Time Period • Important Composers- Beethoven • Overture- musical piece that introduces a ballet or an opera.
Modern Time Period • Important Composers – Debussy and Ravel • Debussy – Impressionist composer • Ravel- experimented with dynamics in his music, making one piece fit just one dynamic. • Ex: Crescendo, Mezzo Piano
Jazz • Jazz appeared in the Modern time period. Born from the work songs and spirituals of the slaves. • Jazz helped to spawn rock and roll, R & B, and Rap.
