MPF(F) • JAN – APR 2010 Test Article Vehicle Transfer System (TAVTS) test and evaluation • Demo to validate dynamic positioning (DP) operations and ship to ship vehicle transfers in sea state three. • The full scale TAVTS and portable thrusters and power units have been fabricated and shipped to Corpus Christi TX for installation on the Mighty Servant 3 (leased FLO-FLO) • Test will run approximately 45 days • Program Priorities • Successful MLP Systems Design Contract Execution • JROC Approval of MPF(F) Increment Three CDD • Successful MPF(F) Vehicle Transfer At-Sea Demo in 2nd QTR FY10 Prepositions a Brigade’s equipment set and sustainment - Provides a Scalable, Rapid Response Capability and facilitates assured access from the sea in restricted-access environments MPF(F) Program is under review in QDR and PR 11

Joint High Speed Vessels (JSHV) • JHSV provides the ability to transport combat ready units rapidly over intra-theater distances without reliance on shore based infrastructure and in austere environments. • Intra-Theater Littoral Maneuver • Seabasing Support • PB 10 procurement: 18 ships – 5 Army, 13 Navy

  5. Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) • LCAC craft inventory (including SLEP) falls below requirement in 2014 • Number of craft yet to be determined; Anticipate minimum 72(+) SSC required to support 3 MEBs • Milestone A achieved in May 2009 • Draft formal requirements (CDD) and Key Performance Parameters in staffing with Navy, approval planned for early Oct 2009 for entry into JCIDS

LCAC SLEP • Preserves amphibious warfare triad (LCAC / EFV(AAAV)/MV-22) • Allows execution of Operational Maneuver From The Sea (OMFTS) and Ship to Objective Maneuver (STOM) • Defers requirement to fund next generation LCAC from FY00 to FY10 • Challenges: • COTS obsolescence, Technology Insertion • Growth work increasing due to the degraded condition of the craft entering SLEP availabilities AUG 09: 24 of 72 SLEPs complete

LHA(R) • Provide the functional replacement for the LHA 1 Class Ships • LHA 6 is a modified LHD variant • Delivery of LHA 6 is being extended from August 2012 to April 2013. • LHA 7 was changed from MPF(F) ship to Assault Echelon (AE) ship • Program Challenges: • Navy/Marine Corps Requirements for future LHA(R) platforms… LHA 8 well deck feasibility study

LPD 17-21 Delivered LPD 22-25 Under Construction LPD 17 • Functionally replaces LPD 4, LSD 36, LKA 113, and LST 1179 Ship classes • LPD Program Profile: • First 5 ships delivered and commissioned • 4 ships under construction in New Orleans & Pascagoula • FY09 Def Approp Act included FY09 funding for part of the 10th LPD 17 class ship. • LPDs 17 and 18 have completed initial deployments NOT UNDER CONTRACT FY 12 11/16

LSD MID LIFE • Mid Life Program, not a SLEP • Return ships to capable Fleet Asset status; able to meet amphibious mission requirements through 2038 • Objective is to: • Improve declining material condition and readiness, • Replace obsolete equipment and • Reduce total ownership costs through technology insertion • Whidbey Island Class (LSD 41 - 48) Harpers Ferry Class (LSD 49 - 52)
