  4. People look at supplies at near empty shelves of Walmart supermarket. Monster storm Dorian came to a near stand-still over the Bahamas, prolonging the agony as surging seawaters and hurricane winds made a shambles of low-lying island communities and spurred mass evacuations along the US east coast (Fort Lauderdale, US, September 2, 2019).

  6. The following images were taken during Progressive Conservative Party leader Robert Stanfield’s visit to North Bay, ON in May, 1974 – less than two months away from the federal election. These images provide an opportunity to discuss how images can affect political campaigns. We have provided an exemplar on the Student Vote website to provide additional context and to help guide the discussion.

  11. The following images are part of a set. They represent different interpretations of a photo taken during Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s first visit to meet American President Donald Trump in February 2017. These examples provide an opportunity to discuss how images can be remixed online or how different captions/headlines can encourage the viewer to interpret the image differently. You may consider dividing your class into groups and giving each group a different version of the image to analyze using the framework.
