Proposed Improvements The proposed Dug Hill Road/ US 431 Improvements project will include: • Increased deceleration lane for Southbound US 431 to Dug Hill Road. • Free Flow Movement from Dug Hill Road to Northbound US 431 with Acceleration Lane. • Offset Left Turn Movements from Southbound US 431 to Dug Hill Road and Dug Hill Road to Southbound US 431 • Increased Dug Hill Road to Southbound US 431 Acceleration Lane • Increased Sight Distance at US 431 & Dug Hill Road Intersection • Intersection Lighting and Additional Warning Devices

Project Accomplishments to Date • November 21, ‘06 – Contract between City of Huntsville and J&A executed • February ’07 – Obtained Design Criteria Approval from ALDOT • March ’07 – Began Environmental/Corridor Studies • April ’07 – Submitted Cultural Resources Survey (Environmental) • May 11, ’07 – Submitted 30% Complete plans for ALDOT and COH review • June 26, ’07 – Held 30% Review with ALDOT & COH • July ’07 – Began Geotechnical Investigations & Materials Report • June to August ’07 – Studied Alternatives for Legacy Preserve Entrance • September 11, ’07 – Holding Public Involvement Meeting

  27. Goal Dates for Remaining Project Tasks • * September 28, ’07 – Submit for Plan-In-Hand (70% Complete) Review • * October 19, ’07 – Submit Environmental Document (Categorical Exclusion) for ALDOT and FHWA Review and Approval with a request for exemption from a Public Hearing • * October 31, ’07 – Submit Geotechnical & Materials Report for review & approval • Late November, ’07 – Environmental Document Approved; signatures obtained • December ’07 – Right-of-Way can be Authorized for Acquisition • Late December, ’07 – P.S. & E. (90% Complete) plans submitted for ALDOT & COH Review • Late Spring ’08 – Plans Complete; Ready to advertise for Construction • Summer ’08 – Right-of-Way acquired; Rights of Entry Executed • Late Summer/Early Fall ’08 – Construction Begins * = Goals that can be accomplished Independent of FHWA & ALDOT review
