Shepherd Program Every Shepherd (officer/board member) cares for 5-8 Sheep (Corporate Members) • Maintains contact with Corporate POC throughout the year • Contacts company in advance of membership expiration to offer assistance in renewing • Follows up to ensure membership renewal (or reason for loss) * Easier to retain than find new members * Redstone-Huntsville 2009
DA Civilian Memberships • Keys: • Good relationship with Army Civilian leadership • Involvement of DA Civilians on Chapter Board of Directors • Recognition of DA Civilians in newsletters, on website and at sponsored events • Awareness of recruiting limitations on DA Civilians *Never come between Board Member and job!* Redstone-Huntsville 2009
Recognition of DA Civilians • Redstone hosts annual DA Civilian of Year Competition • Winners in three categories announced at annual dinner event devoted solely for that purpose --- congratulated by the CG • Showcase and reward quality DA Civilians at other events throughout the year • And, by the way, it doesn’t hurt when your chapter’s Civilian of the Year becomes AUSA’s winner! *Congratulations Mr. Rick Turner!* Redstone-Huntsville 2009
