AHC Quotes "The AHC provides states a forum to address the full spectrum of interoperability communications by providing opportunities for multi-state networking, coordination and training. It's efforts in this area will support states in reaching the goal of seamless communications in large disasters and emergencies." Richard Canas Director, Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness New Jersey “The All Hazards Consortium is re-engineering the way state governments are collaborating with each other and with industry. I look forward to seeing what the next few years bring for all of us working together.” Bob Crouch Director, Governor’s Office of Commonwealth Preparedness Member of AHC Board of Directors Virginia
AHC Quotes (continued) “The All Hazards Consortium will play a significant role in assisting states and local governments in preparing for future emergencies, both man- made and natural. Our ability to respond in the middle Atlantic area can no longer be confined by political/geographic boundaries developed in the late 1700s. Preparedness, mutual aid, evacuations, etc. must be planned and executed on a regional level. The Consortium will provide the opportunity to share ideas, best practices and foster the continued development of inter-governmental relationships in the middle Atlantic area.” Tom O’Reilly Former Director, Office Attorney General New Jersey “The All Hazards Consortium is an important “voice” that provides a means for the private sector and government officials to work collaboratively to make our communities safe from all types of hazards.” Darrell DarnellDirector, DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (DHSEMA)
AHC Quotes (continued) “The All Hazards Consortium represents a wonderful model for regional collaboration using an open architecture through a “groups of groups” dialog that allows each member to define what they each want to get done and then work collectively toward the common good. ” Tom LockwoodSenior Advisor, Screening Coordination Office, DHSFormer Director, National Capital Region, DHS “The All Hazards Consortium provides a 21st century solution for 21st century problems. It provides a great venue for government to work together on a regional basis and for industry to learn what the issues are and where they can get involved in this public/private partnership.” Chris GeldartDirector, National Capital Regional Coordination, DHS Former Deputy Director, MD Office of Homeland Security
AHC Quotes (continued) "The All Hazards Consortium plays an essential role in bringing the full range of responsible stakeholders together to exchange ideas and best practices. It's most important contribution may be to break down cultural and organizational barriers within the emergency response community to improve coordination and cooperation. No other organization has the vision, scope and resources required to unify such a broad spectrum of stakeholders." Tim Karney Publisher, Emergency Management Magazine “The All Hazards Consortium has become an important ally to DHS by becoming a partner in the efforts to create a “culture of preparedness” throughout the region. By facilitating state-to-state collaborations between its public and private partners, the All Hazards Consortium is helping to impact the region’s preparedness efforts” George ForesmanFormer Under Secretary for Preparedness, DHSFormer Virginia Homeland Security Advisor
AHC Quotes (continued) “In today’s state and local government marketplace, the private sector needs a place to go to become involved in the discussions with government leadership. The All Hazards Consortium provides this environment. Having been there since the beginning, Motorola has seen the Consortium grow and adapt to meet the needs of state governments in a way that the private sector can become engaged in.” Kelly Kirwan Vice President State/Local Government/Commercial Markets Division Motorola “The All Hazards Consortium has created the most unique opportunity for the private sector to become involved with state governments in the development of true regional solutions. As governments define and agree on the need, the private sector can better plan and invest in solutions that actually are in demand. This make our job simpler and helps us better understand the needs of the government customers who actually own the problem.” Pete Porter Manager of State of Maryland IBM
AHC Quotes (continued) “The All Hazards Consortium has become a unique community that actually provides regional collaboration between the states. This has forged a new model in how the solutions to the region’s issues are co-developed with government.” Christine Sumner Former Director, State/Local Government Marketing Services CISCO Systems “The All Hazards Consortium allows large federal integrators like Northrop to find a more effective role in the state and local government marketplace. By bringing the states together to work as a single group, the AHC provides a platform for large scale discussions that affect more that a single state. Working with government, the private sector can understand more clearly who the people are who own the problem and work with them to develop a long-term solution.” Mike Hughes Manager of State of Maryland Northrop Grumman
