Joseph Niépce • 1816: starts making negative photographs using silver halide • 1822: stops using Silver halide • 1824: Creates the first durable lightfast camera photograph • 1827: The earliest surviving photograph
William Talbot LouisDaguerre 1839: Introduces his daguerreotype process Daguerreotype: a drawing aid for photographers after the birth of photography became known as the photographic camera • 1835: Produces durable silver chloride camera negatives • 1839: introduces the paper- based process • 1841: introduces his patented calotype • Calotype: a process in making pictures
1878-1887 • Eadweard Muybridge used a row of cameras to produce a moving picture • He used trip wires to set off the cameras

Early 1900’s • 1900 The Brownie was the first camera any one could afford the price was $1created by Kodak • 1907: Kodak introduces 120 film format • 1912: Thomas Edison introduces a short-lived 22 mm home motion picture. • 1923: The 16mm amateur motion picture format is introduced by Kodak. • 1925: The Leica introduces the 35 mm format to still photography
Late 1900’s • 1948: Edwin H. Land introduces the first Polaroid instant camera. • 1975: First digital camera was made by Steven Sassoon • 1986: Kodak scientists invent the world’s first megapixel sensor.
Modern Photography 2000’s • 2006: Dalsa produces a 111 megapixel CCD sensor • J-SH04 introduced by J-Phone the first camera phone • 2009: Kodak discontinuance of Kodachrome film
