  2. UPDATESocial Studies Teaching and Learning in Kentucky Goal: Support the implementation of highly effective teaching and learning practices in the Social Studies through a focus on KCAS SS, Literacy in History/Social Studies and analysis of the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework.

  7. The result of a three year state-led collaborative effort, the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards was developed to serve two audiences: 1. States to upgrade their state social studies standards 2. Practitioners — local school districts, schools, teachers and curriculum writers — to strengthen their social studies programs

Outperform their non-NHD peers on state standardized tests. • Better writers, who write with a purpose and real voice, and marshal solid evidence to support their point of view. • Critical thinkers who can digest, analyze and synthesize information. • Use 21st century skills: collaborate with team members, manage their time and persevere.
