SRI 13 • Passed 12 to 9 vote • Must get involved if marriage equality is important to you!! • We need to change the constitution • When we change the constitution we MUST vote on it in 2 sessions back to back • We have step one down. Now we need step2 • REGISTER TO VOTE!!! Tell everyone friend and enemy.

  3. SRI • ALL marriages regardless of gender once we pass in 2015 • Once we pass in 2015 we will need to vote on this is 2016 • So we need to start talking and educating people now • WE NEED YOUR HELP to make the changes needed

  4. Assisted Reproduction • AB421 • Can have surrogate parenting • We have the right to equal rights across the board!! Amen! • No longer need to be genetically connected to the child

  5. Nevada National Guard- NRS 254 • 2003- Model State Code of Military Justice • Similar to SB18 which prohibits discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation and defines sexual orientation as having or being perceived • Measures revises provisions under the NEVADA CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE

  6. HATE CRIMES- SB139 • 2011- same bill sponsored by S. Parks and lost by 1 vote • Added gender identification and expression to the hate crimes laws • One of the strongest hate crimes in the country!!! • Any crime committed against a person, if perp goes to trial it will ne an enhanced penalty • Passed on a 20-1 vote. • NRS 22 • Legislative website and read all bills WWW.leg.state.nv.us • NAC 632- if you discriminate against anyone you will lose your license. • Understand the LAW and be involved with the political process

  7. Public Employment Discrimination • AB9 • Amended the charter of the City of Reno to add age, sex, martial status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and disability to the list of prohibited discriminatory acts in its Civil Service system

  8. Nevada Health Link (ACA) • SB440- Nevada Exchange- Silver State health Exchange • Section 1557 of ACA- forbids discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, national origin, disability, or age in health programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance

Nevada Health Link • Mental Health not included • Marital or family problems • Social, occupational or religions maladjustments • Behavior disorders • Impulse control disorders • Learning disabilities • Mental retardation • Chronic organic brain syndrome • Personality disorder • Transsexualism, psychosexual identity disorder, psychosexual dysfunction of gender dysphoria
