“10 most disappointing cars of 2011”.
E N D
Designing and engineering new car models is part art, part science: a billion-dollar bet on what the car buying public will want for years into the future. The deepest pitfalls come in trying to head off in a new direction, like a convertible minivan or an SUV with a coupe body. In Other News MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — A Pennsylvania cash machine apparently took all those cracks about service fees costing an arm and a leg a little too seriously. Firefighters had to free a woman who got her hand stuck in the ATM at a suburban Pittsburgh bank on Monday. The bank says it's grateful the woman wasn't badly hurt. The rescue was the department's second strange call in less than a year. Moon Run firefighters freed a toddler who climbed into a toy machine at a mall in December. BERWICK, Pa. — For one group of central Pennsylvania eighth-graders, a recent field trip to Baltimore included lunch at Hooters — a restaurant better known for its busty waitresses than its food. The Berwick Middle School students were visiting the National Aquarium last week. Chaperones took them to various restaurants for lunch because the group of 100 was too large for a single place. A group of 15 to 20 students ended up at Hooters. Superintendent Wayne Brookhart says that while he wishes the group's coed chaperones had chosen another restaurant, he has not received any complaints from parents.
