As we all stay safe & healthy at home, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) continues its efforts to reach out to its dear audience through a virtual tour of Thailand’s world-famous tourist spots. Wat Kudi Dao, Ayutthaya Khon at Kudi Dao Temple is located on the east side of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Railway Station, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Wat Kudi Dao was once a prominent Buddhist temple in Ayutthaya, Thailand. It’s origins were during the reign of King Narai. The temple is also dubbed, ‘The Monastery of the Star Dormitory’. According to documents the temple was the residence of Phra Then Muni, an important priest who advised Crown Prince Boromakot during his residence there, and was later involved in various negotiations about the succession.

  2. The prominent features of this temple are its stupas at the centre flanked by a grand hall called an ‘ubusot’ to the east. Wat Kudi Dao was abandoned with the fall of the empire in 1767, but these beautiful ruins still stand proudly today, a grand reminder of the incredible craftsmanship of a bygone era. Ratchaburana Temple is located in Ayutthaya Historical Park, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Wat Ratchaburana, which translates to “the temple of Royal Restoration” was built in 1424 by King Borommarachathirat II as a memorial to his two elder brothers. Located in the island section of Ayutthaya, Wat Ratchaburana is immediately north of Wat Mahathat. The temple’s main prang is one of the finest in the city. The vaults inside the main prang also displayed mural paintings, depicting the previous lives of the Buddha.
