PH Building AssessmentBuildings 15, 22, 23, 154,167 Safety Analysis
Basis of Assessment • Building Inspection Report • ODM’s • TSO Risks Assessment • TSO Report • Visit • Analysis
Criteria used during visit • Structure • Roof, Façade, Walls, Floors, Windows, Doors, Corridors, Stairs • Infrastructure • Electricity, Plumbing • Safety • Detection, Evacuation, Emergency Lighting, Signage, Fire Doors, Fire Fighting Equipment
Buildings 15, 22, 23, 154, 1671 of 3 • Structure • Roof needs renovation • Facade. Paintwork. • Windows. Rotting frames with single glazing. Some blinds to be replaced. • Infrastructure • Toilets
Buildings 15, 22, 23, 154, 1672 of 3 • Hot water (none in bldg 15). • Heating inefficient. • Corridors and cul de sacs (aspects of building layout to be reconsidered). • Safety • Multi-occupancy (see conclusion).
Buildings 15, 22, 23, 154, 1673 of 3 • Conclusion • Apart from the obvious deterioration of the building fabric /roof and façade) and amenities (toilets) these buildings suffer from confused multi occupancy where workshops are shared as meetings rooms and even canteen areas. Some areas are somewhat labyrinth in layout. • These buildings require a full overhaul in order to define office areas as separate from experimental, lab and workshop areas with clear access and egress.
