    4. Purpose: To conduct a systematic review of measures used in study of HPV vaccine acceptability Established: November 2007 Chair: Jennifer Allen (Boston) HPV Measures Review Group

A Systematic Review of Measures Used in Studies to Assess Acceptability of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine. Under Review.     6. HPV Cognitive Testing Group Purpose: To produce a set of cognitively tested survey items that can be used in future research of HPV vaccination behavior Established: October 2008 Chair: Noel Brewer (North Carolina) Participants:

HPV Cognitive Testing Group Identified 20 survey items to cognitively test among parents of vaccine eligible daughters (ages 9-17 years) from a candidate list of 114 items in the literature or used in ongoing research. All cognitive testing was conducted in English. Each CPCRN site identified two target racial/ethnic groups for cognitive testing: African Americans (UNC, UCLA, WU) Latino (UT, UW, Harvard) White (UNC, UT, UW, WU) Other: Asians (UCLA), Haitians (Harvard) Examples of constructs:

HPV Cognitive Testing Group Products Completed: Cognitive testing of 20 survey items for parents of vaccine eligible daughters (n=5-10 participants/site) Total N=62 parents Analysis of findings from participating centers Products Continuing: Cross-center manuscript to be submitted to the journal of Sexually Transmitted Infections

Purpose: Assess HPV vaccine behavior, attitudes, and barriers among Latino parents of vaccine eligible girls (9-17 yrs); compare across different groups & geographic regions; inform intervention development and implementation Established: October 2008 Chair: Roshan Bastani (Los Angeles) Participating Sites: HPV Latino Survey Group

Identified constructs relevant to: HPV vaccination behavior and to guide intervention development Selected/Adapted 24 Core Questionnaire items: majority from existing surveys at participating CPCRN sites, HPV Measures Group, and national surveys Cognitively Tested + Translated into Spanish Examples of constructs: HPV Latino Survey Group
