  1. Selected New Results on Central Exclusive Production (KRYSTHAL Collaboration) V.A. Khoze(IPPP, Durham & PNPI) arXiv:1204.4803

  2. Introduction (why we are interested in CEP processes?) ‘Diffractive Higgs’ revisited. Standard Candle CEP processes. CEP as a way to study old and new heavy resonances. CEP through the KRYSTHAL eyes (new results, selected topics). Diphoton CEP. Dimeson CEP. (very new CDF results )(Mike’s talk) SuperCHIC MC. Summary and Outlook. (Mike’s and Wenbo’s talks) Record statistics on the dipion CeXP in the events with two (>4.5) LRG!

  3. New CMS, CDF, LHCb dihadron CeX results (soon) to come. Alice dipion data.

  4. Current situation with ‘diffractive Higgs’ (by popular demand-Risto, Mike,Marek...)

  5. + strong evidence from the Tevatron 4 July 2012

  6. Prospects for high accuracy (~1%) mass measurements • (irrespectively of the decay mode). • Higgs width (some BSM scenarios) ! ? • Degenerate Higgs ? • Quantum number filter/analyser. • ( 0++dominance ;C,P-even) • H ->bb opens up (Hbb- coupl.) • (gg)CED bb inLO ; NLO,NNLO, b- masseffects - controllable. • H→ZZ*, WW*,   • New leverage –proton momentum correlations (probes of QCD dynamics , CP- violation effects…) ‘Diffractive Higgs’ revisited (Christophe’s talk) H currently ATLAS FP-420 (STFC cutting rule) CMS-HPS, Totem (Mike’s talk)  LHC : ‘post July 4th’,Higgs ID…… How do we know what we’ve found? Higgs or technipion or Imposter ??? Other ideas on the market  mass, spin, couplings to fermions, invisible modes…  for all these purposes the CeXP will be particularly handy !

  7. (ExHuME-05). (Halfway) <Stot2>=0.02

  8. THINGS TO DO ! Account for the b-dependence of the survival factors (GLM-new results)   KKMR-04; CLP-07.  Current theoretical understanding: Strong interaction of the 125 GeV boson with the ZZ/WW disfavours (but not conclusively excludes) pseudoscalar, but heavier Higgs-like particles ?

  9. PRIOR TO THE LHC START-UP 2010 2012 2007 Needs (post July 4th) update-further shrinkage ! (M.Tasevsky+HKW-2012)

  10. 2012 results M.Tasevsky+ HKW Max –factor 5-10 enhancement.

  11. CEP as a way to study old and new heavy resonances. Heavy Quarkonia Zoo of charmonium –like XYZ states We have to revise our understanding of the heavy quark bound state systems. To establish the spin-parity assignment of the new states- of crucial importance

  12. , CMS, LHCb. <1.2 MeV (maybe two different states X(3872), X(3875) ) Indications for: 3840 (3915) MeV Triggering on J/: M J/+, J/+ ….

  13. CEP through the eyes of the KRYSTHAL (2008-2012) (or LRGs) CEP is reported by LHCb (DIS-11) new CDF CEP results (PRL-2012) ( Mike’s talk) CMS-2012-first studies ( Wenbo’s talk) All measurements in agreement with Durham group (pre)dictions.

  14. KRYSTHAL Col

  15. Standard Candle Processes and light

  16. (Krakow group) Proton dissociation conribution

  17. Now 43 events (KMRS-04) (HKRS-10) (now proved to be very small (CDF) in agreement with our expectations)

  18. (Wenbo’s talk) (Mike’s talk)

  19. (Mike’s talk) (Mike’s talk) NLO effects-factor of 1.55 Currently theoret. uncertainties are under further revision.

  20. 40 diagrams (4 basic)  (M.Benayoun,V.Chernyak,-1990)

  21. (explicit calculation) is this easy to understand ?

  22. is this easy to understand ? currently popular (among the more formal community) MHV- technique

  23. g g

  24. Backgrounds for the diphoton CEP @ CMS ?

  25. (our new results will be available soon) (K-factor,..) New CDF data nicely confirm this ! Prospects of further measurements

  26. First thoughts with respect to the new CDF dipion results PT or non-PT: that is the question ? AKLR-1974 (also Krakow group, Piotr’s talk) Strictly CeXP calculation, SuperCHIC  Strong dependence on (poorly known) effective ‘pion’ formfactor. Dependence on gluon PDFs . Role of diffractive dissociation in the real-life data needs evaln (900 GeV CDF data could shed light)    -distributions needed !

  27. Good agreement with ExHuME and SuperCHIC MCs Needs further update!

  28. Proton dissociation conribution
