  5. Session Objectives 5 At the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Recognize the responsibilities of the zone chairperson in accordance with the Standard District Constitution and By-Laws • Utilize the Zone Chairperson Manual as a resource during their term

  6. Responsibilities 6 • Further purposes of the association • Serve as chairperson of DG Advisory Committee in the zone; call regular meetings • Invite GMT/GLT district coordinators and DG team to discuss membership/leadership development and collaborative efforts at a DG Advisory Committee meeting

  7. Responsibilities 7 • File DG Advisory Committee report and send to appropriate district officers • Promote CEP to clubs and work with district GMT/GLT and DG team to implement the program • With the GMT district coordinator, help organize new clubs and stay informed on club activities and well-being

  8. Responsibilities 8 • With the GLT district coordinator, support leadership initiatives by keeping Lions informed of leadership development opportunities • Represent each club in any problems with the district, MD council chairperson, or LCI • Supervise progress of projects in the zone • Aim for each club to operate under club constitution and by-laws

  9. Responsibilities 9 • Promote representation at international and district conventions • Visit a meeting of each club at least once during his/her term, and report findings to appropriate district officers • Perform other such functions/acts as may be required by International Board of Directors • Review ZC Manual ….

GMT Responsibilities 10 • Promote membership resources • Promote/identify clubs to use CEP • Ensure membership chairpersons understand their role • Identify extension opportunities • Emphasize member engagement in service • Encourage clubs to implement a membership growth plan • Communicate needs/strategies to other GMT members

  11. GLT Responsibilities 11 • Identify potential club leaders • Promote participation in leadership development programs • Engage new leaders in leadership roles • Collaborate with the GLT to ensure club officer training is conducted • Communicate training needs to other GLT members

  12. Session Objectives 12 At the end of this session, participants will be able to: • Recognize the responsibilities of the zone chairperson in accordance with the Standard District Constitution and By-Laws • Utilize the Zone Chairperson Manual as a resource during their term
