Negotiating with departments • Wording can be changed to narrow or broaden the scope of your request • Your request can be narrowed to avoid paying large fees • You can request a partial release of records not subject to extensive vetting or time-consuming consultations with other departments or outside parties
By early next week you should have… • submitted six to eight requests, including at least one to each of the three levels of government • begun following up with departments • started to compile files for each requests, including a copy of your original application, notes and followup correspondence
