ACS Progress Core IRIS Roll-Out • On schedule for March completion • EPD – complete. Final CLDT goes live 27th March • Around 750 ACS operational users across 24 sites • Now revisiting Hertsmere/St Albans EPD & Activating Day Services CareNotes Interface • Development underway – Few weeks delay due to change in scope eSAP Interface • Some delays – focus diverted to Finance BPR Finance BPR • On schedule for planned April go live
ACS Progress Joint Projects & Initiatives • IRIS Security & Access –changes being implemented • Data Quality – “clean-up” started. Mix auto & manual • Electronic Social Care Record – ACS in planning stages Improving IT Skills • Around 1,200 ACS Staff signed-up for ECDL • Over 2,400 modules passed (av 90% score) • Currently ACS taking 300 modules/month • Planning 2006/7 Schedule
Objectives To deliver efficiencies through: • Removing file handling/storage • Eliminating duplicate data entry • More cost effective mobile working • Faster service delivery through stream-lining
The Elements A Generic Service • Managed service with full support arrangements Departmental Application • Form design & development, phones & pens Links to Other Systems • Printing from IRIS with auto upload from form Cost/Payment Structure • Mostly pay-as-you-go with bulk-use incentives
Progress Generic Service • Serco creating with input from Corporate & ACS First ACS Application Underway • Low risk to bed-down technology and support • Will determine when DigiPens can be used by other depts. • Builds model for savings in the future Next – Develop Links to IRIS • IRIS printing partially completed forms and auto uploading from DigiPens
The First DigiPen Project Community Equipment Orders • 24,000 orders, 40,000 pieces of equipment pa • 120 ACS front-line staff to “go live” in June • Cost/Benefit Illustration: • Save 10min per form handling - £45k pa • Save 1 journey per fortnight - £45k pa • Total running cost for DigiPens - £85k pa
