  3. Cleaning Pewteris easy! All you need is a little hot water mixed with a mild detergent. Dip a sponge into the mixture and wringe out the excess water. Then simply wipe over the pewter surfaces. You can then dry with a soft cloth. Bare in mind that if your pewter product is sentimental or has monetary value, it may be best to simply leave it be. Over time the metal will take on a patina that many people prize. To preserve this aged finished, simply give it a dust as required.
