  1. Jonathan Toews Jonathan Toews has an excellent work ethic by showing leadership when he plays hockey!

  2. His work ethic! • When Toews plays hockey he is very serious hence his nickname captain serious. • He never quits and always gets back up again • You know he has excellent leadership when you find out he became Captain in his rookie year, and is tied with Crosby for the youngest captain to win a Stanley Cup. • In 2008 he was nominated for the Calder, and then 2 years later won the Stanley Cup! • When people play hockey against Jonathan Toews he sets the pace! • And when he has the puck he always has 2 options pass or shoot and he is capable of always making one happen.

His achievements! • In 2005 he was a U17 Hockey Champion and MVP • World Junior Gold in 2006 and 2007 he was the top scorer for 2007. • He was named captain only 64 games into his rookie season! • He was selected 3rd overall in 2006 • 2009 and 2011 all-star game! • And in 2010 he was selected to the Vancouver Olympic team. He was named best forward of the tourney with 2 goals and 9 assists! After the Olympic Gold he went on with his NHL season to win the Stanley Cup and was Awarded the Conn Smythe for the MVP of the playoffs, and then voted for Canadian Athlete of the year he lost to George St. Pierre by a hair, but I think he deserved it more then GSP!

Captain Serious! • His Teammates call him Captain serious because they think he takes everything way to seriously. • When there on a road trip he’ll always tell people to settle down! • If Jonathan Toews wasn’t so serious perhaps they wouldn’t have won the Stanley Cup? • But Serious makes him the player he is!

Why he’s amazing • But his favorite player growing up was Joe Sakic! • People say that he had the quickest, fastest, best, and most accurate wrist shot! • Today they say it is Jarome Iginla but what if it’s Jonathan Toews? • He mostly just cleans up the garbage in front of the net! • But watch the world junior shootout between Canada and USA in 2007, then you’ll see! If he always see’s two options with the puck he is almost always going to have a way out. All he really can do is pass or shoot! Jonathan Toews second favorite player growing up was Wayne Gretzky and he always said you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!

  6. 2011-2012 • This year Jonathan Toews has 48 points in 47 games. • He is on pace for 83 points in 81 games. • But there is one thing that really stands out Jonathan Toews is +16 that is pretty good because he is positive and in the double digits. • He is in 11th for points and 2nd for goals. • That may not seem very good but he gets better every time he plays encouraging everyone else to do better he increases by around 10 points every season, he brings the competition to the game more and more every game!

  7. Fortitude This word is very good for describing Jonathan Toews. It means, mental and emotional strength while facing difficulty. Jonathan Toews brings that to every game he plays. Just look at his face, look at that determination. Facing difficulty is quite simple you just have to have mental and emotional strength.

Watch him! • If Jonathan Toews wasn’t on the Chicago Blackhawks they would be no where near the team that they are right now. • He can make chemistry with anyone he plays with! • He makes the plays that are worth seeing… sometimes. • So keep an eye out for Jonathan Toews, and George will keep two eyes on you.
