In accordance with WAC 296-305-06008 (Electrical) – all auxiliary electrical equipment used by the Pasco Fire Department has been replaced. WAC 296-305-06008 requires: • Heavy Duty flexible cords with SO or SJ jackets or equivalent. • The path to ground from power cords, equipment, and temporary lights shall be continuous • Electrical equipment, tools, and temporary lights shall be constructed so that water cannot enter or accumulate in wireways, or other electrical parts. • Electrical equipment, that are used in wet or damp atmospheres shall have 120 VAC single-phase 15 or 20 amp in-line resettable ground fault circuit interrupters. • Temporary lights shall be equipped with a handle and be protected by guards of a nonconductive or insulated material to prevent accidental contact with the bulb. • Bodies and caps shall be weather tight, 20 amp rated at 120 VAC Pasco Fire Department Auxiliary Lighting
WAC 296-305-06008 (Electrical) continued Pasco Fire Department • Cords on reels that do not exceed one hundred fifty feet in length shall be SO or SJ type jackets or equivalent. • Cord reels that are not permanently mounted on a vehicle shall be insulated from the ground when in use. System Components Pasco Fire Department • In-line resettable ground fault circuit interrupters. • 120 VAC single-phase 15 or 20 amp. • MUST be connected to the vehicle Auxiliary Lighting
System Components • 120 VAC cord reels • Connected to the in-line resettable ground fault circuit interrupters. • 120 VAC cord reels shall be approved for use in wet or damp locations or hazardous atmospheres. • Bodies and caps shall be weather tight, 20 amp rated. • Cord reels that are not permanently mounted shall be insulated from the ground when in use. System Components • Temporary Light • Temporary lights shall be equipped with a handle and be insulated from heat and possible electrical shock • Shall be protected by guards of a nonconductive or insulated material to prevent accidental contact with the bulb. The Set Up Pasco Fire Department Start the generator and allow to warm up. Attach the in-line resettable ground fault circuit interrupter to the chosen outlet on the vehicle. Auxiliary Lighting
The Set Up Pasco Fire Department Attach Cord reel or extension cord to the in-line resettable ground fault circuit interrupter. Attach tool or junction box. Auxiliary Lighting
The Set Up From the Junction Box Attach extension cord (Yellow = 50 ft, Black = 25 ft.) to an outlet in the junction box Attach tool to the extension cord. Pasco Fire Department Auxiliary Lighting
