LiveText Tutorial Creating an Assignment Adding a Rubric to the Assignment Prepared by: Dr. Colleen Sexton, GSU
Can switch list of courses over semesters by choosing from list under notebook image on top right. Step 1: Course List found under “Courses” tab. Click on course number to open course tabs.
You can choose from tabs in this view to add things such as syllabi, course templates you want the students to use, and assignments. Course description is pre-entered if the course description is in GSU database. You cannot add to this via LiveText. Only Admin Account can add the course description. Step 2: Course Overview; Choose Assignment tab to begin creating an Assignment
By creating an assignment you can share with the students the assignment directions, any templates you expect them to use (may be inside of LT or attached documents), the standards linked to the assignments, scoring methodology, and submission tracking. Step 3: Choose “New Assignment” tab to create a new assignment.
You can set dates for submission. You can load these in the beginning of the course and select when you want the students to first view the assignment. You can send them to any externally linked document for the assignment, link the document in LiveText, and/or link to a LiveText template or document. Step 4: Describe the Assignment
Knowing the name of the rubric you wish to attach simplifies attachment process. You can determine and select if the assessment is formative or summative. You can select whether you want to see the list of grades once scored. Step 5: Attach the Rubric by clicking in box by name and choosing “Insert Document” tab above list of titles.
Step 6: Once all components of the assignment are complete choose “Save Assignment.”
NOTE: Can always go back and edit any assignment component Step 7: Review Assignment to be sure all information is correct.
