2000 LA outsourced this residential accommodation to the private sector Supported Living Accommodation Residential Homes
History Hartlepool’s position: • 4* Authority • Provided good services with limited choice • Despite LA’s having a duty to offer Direct Payments (DP) low uptake in Hartlepool • New Director = new direction of travel
- Work began in 6 pilot sites • - 80 LA members of In Control - All setting up systems of Self Directed Support (SDS). • - Pilots - people with Learning Disabilities. • - In Control’s system of SDS - designed for all who use Social Care Systems.
2005 – 07 -National Direction – I.W.B.C + I.L.C.D.P. Personal Budgets (PB’s) -means of improving the value of public expenditure and enhancing citizenship • 2007 Total transformation of our services. Personal budgets offered to all.
