  2. CTGBC • Began meeting in summer 2002 • Effort had political support • CT Innovations “sponsored” through the CT Clean Energy Fund • Members of public and private sectors were invited to a introductory meeting

  3. CTGBC • Interested organizations began meeting monthly and formed a non-profit: • State agencies-DEP, Office of Policy & Management, Dept of Public Works • Manufacturer of fuel cells • Architects/energy consultants • Clean Energy Fund staff

  4. CTGBC • Mission of organization is to provide education on green building including: • LEED training for design professionals • Less technical seminars for other audiences • Providing a clearinghouse for Green Building info

  5. CTGBC • A kick-off was held that featured national speakers (October 2002) • Bob Fox, Fox and Fowle Architects, NYC • Designed 4 Times Square Office Bldg • PA DEP James Toothaker • Managed building of PA DEP Headquarters

  6. Kick-off recruited members and donations CTGBC sponsors with the USGBC - LEED training featuring USGBC trainers Provides member socials for networking Offers tours of innovative buildings (e.g., Mohegan Sun fuel cells heat plant) CTGBC

  8. CTGBC • Related topics are also featured at events (e.g., completely renewable energy systems, solar combined with a fuel cell)

  9. CTGBC • Upcoming events include: • Lighting and Sustainable Design • Green, High-Performance Schools • Landscape Design to Reduce Stormwater Runoff Naturally • Green Home Design
