  3. Simple Future Will: • Usamos will cuando decidimos hacer algo en el momento que estamos hablando. Surge en ese momento, no lo tenemos planeado: A: “Oh, I’ve left the door open” Oh, he dejado la puerta abierta B: “I’ll go and shut it” Iré y la cerraré ( No teníamos planeado cerrar la puerta, pero ha surgido así) “What would you like to drink?” “I’ll have a limonade, please” “Did you phone Ann?” “Oh no, I forgot. I’ll do it now” • Con fecuencia usamos will con expresiones como I think…, Idon’t think…; I’m sure…; probably…; I expect… I think Iwill stay at home this evening I’m sure you will finish you studies I don’t think Real Madrid will win the cup • Usamos will para Promesas I won’t tell Tom what you said. I promise I promise I will phone you as soon as I arrive • Para hacer predicciones This time next year I will be in Japan. Where will you be?

  4. Future continuous and Perfect future • Estos tiempos se usan igual que en español. If you arrive at my house at 2.00, I’ll be still eating (si llegas a mi casa a las dos, estaré comiendo todavía) But if you arrive at 3.00, I’ll have already eaten (pero si llegas a las tres, ya habré comido) If you don’t hurry up, the train will have left when we arrive (si no te das prisa, el tren se habrá marchado cuando llegemos)

  5. Be going to… (am going to…; is going to...; are going to…) (ir a…) • Usamos esta expresión cuando ya hemos decidido qué hacer, lo que intentamos hacer en el futuro, lo que tengo planeado A: There’s a film on television tonight. Are you going towatch it? (vas a verlo) B: No, I’m too tired. I’m going to have an early night A. I’ve heard that Ann has won a lot of money. What is she going to do with it? (¿qué va a hacer con él?) B: I’ve heard she is going to travel around the word (va a viajar por el mundo) • Usamos be going to para predecir cuando tenemos un indicio - Be careful! there’s a hole and you are going to fall on the groung (cuidado! Hay un hoyo y te vas a caer al suelo) - Look at those clouds! It’s going to rain a lot (Mira las nubes! Va a llover mucho) (El hoyo que estamos viendo y las nubes son el indicio de que va a pasar algo)

  6. Present continuous • Usamos el presente contínuo para hablar de futuro cuando tenemos un plan yaorganizado o concertado (la diferencia con be going to es que éste está planeado pero es sólo una intención, todavía no está organizado) I’m meeting Ann tomorrow(voy a ver a Ann mañana (ya he quedado con ella)) I’m going to meet Ann tomorrow (Voy a ver a Ann mañana( tengo la intención pero todavía no lo he organizado) I’m leaving for Madrid on Monday (ya tengo los billetes) I’m going to Morroco next summer He’s watching a football match at the stadium (ya tiene las entradas compradas y todo)

  7. Present simple • Usamos el presente simple para expresar futuro siempre que sea un horario o programa por ejemplo, transporte público, cines, cursos, exposiciones, etc. What time does the film begin? (Estamos en un cine y preguntamos que a qué hora empieza la peli. Estamos preguntando por una acción futura, pero esa película empieza siempre a la misma hora) The train leaves Plymoth at 10.30 and arrives in London at 13.45 The football match starts at 8.00 Tomorrow is Wednesday
