Where did it come from? • Originated as a distribution medium for web radio interviews and broadcasts • Initially strictly utilized by iPod • Podcasts may be played using most digital audio players and audio software
Uses of Podcasting • As educators we can supplement our teaching with Podcasting • Benefits those who • Missed class • Need to review • Too shy to ask questions in front of peers • Have learning disabilities

How do I Podcast? • Need three (3) things: • iPod • iTalk • Armband • Your own website

How to use the iPod? • Very simple • Plug in the iPod to your computer’s USB port and it’ll do the work for you • iTunes or “Your iPod library” • Convert the recorded WAV files to manageable mp3’s & load the files to your website • Gracie at x2425
How to convert to mp3 from wav? • On Windows: change to MP3 by going Edit -> Preferences, then making sure you are in the General tab, select the Import Settings button. Under "Import Using" select "MP3 Encoder", then "OK" followed by another "OK" - you're set up to import and/or convert files as MP3! • On the Macintosh: change to MP3 by going iTunes -> Preferences, then making sure you are in the General tab, select the Import Settings button. How has podcasting changed my teaching style? • Watch what you say! • Patience • Be clear • Slow down and refer to slide numbers frequently • Be specific • Go through problem solutions minutely and slowly • Recapitulate • It has made me more thorough as an instructor
