MSDO Elevator Speech • MSDO is an organization of municipal service delivery officials who create, manage and/or support municipal service delivery initiatives across Canada • MSDO provides a forum for members to share experiences and knowledge, and provides a unified voice for municipal service delivery officials to other groups
Brief History of MSDO • 2002 - Service delivery managers in southern Ontario meet informally • 2005 - Service delivery managers of six large Canadian cities meet • 2006 – 2010 - Additional municipalities across Canada participate in annual meetings • 2010 - Registered as a legal entity
MSDO Structure • Pan-Canadian; No regional chapters • Municipal members • One vote per municipality • Membership fee based on population (ranges from $150 to $1,000) • Affiliate members • Other public sector or related groups approved by the Board • No voting rights • Fixed membership fee ($375)

Challenges • Uneven regional representation • Providing communications/activities in French • Communication between members • Raising awareness of MSDO beyond existing members
Next Steps • Develop an internal communications strategy(June – October) • Develop a Strategic Plan (June – October) • Seek mutually beneficial opportunities with ICCS (ongoing) • Explore greater collaboration with MISA (ongoing) • Develop and implement external communication strategy (winter 2013)
