  4. Holden’s Adulthood • Smoking • Dating • Drinking • Thinks about sex • Got a Prostitute

  5. Symbol • The Frozen Lake • Water is the child because it moves • Duck is the symbol for adulthood it shows how it matures by flying away. • Ice is also the adult because it sticks there and doesn’t move.

  6. Loss of Innocence in Holden’s perspective • Holden’s smoking habit shows he does different things to calm himself down • Holden’s cursing • He tries to date • Becomes sensitive when people talk about others
