3. KASAHARA Industry Co., Ltd. The raw material of “Okhotsk Calcium” is the shells of the scallops caught around Hokkaido. The shells are heated over on high heat of about 1,100 degrees and turns into the powder containing Calcinated Calcium. It is the multifunctional product made from the 100% natural material. The powder complies with the “Japanese Standards of Food Additives: Calcinated Shell Calcium.” １ The Okhotsk Calcium is a food additive.

4. Scallop Catch The scallop catch in the Okhotsk Sea, which our factory is on, is 300,000 ton, 150,000 ton of which is used for our products. 5. KASAHARA Industry Co., Ltd. ２　Mechanism of Okhotsk Calcium The main component of the scallop shell is calcium carbonate. Calcinated on high heat, it is decomposed into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. The calcium oxide is called Okhotsk Calcium. Reacting with water, calcium oxide (Okhotsk Calcium) turns into calcium hydroxide. The solution is the strong-alkaline one with more than PH12. It is adequate for the propagation of fungus. Inoculate some petri dishes (about 20ml) with about 10 fungal spores.
