  2. Anatomy • There is 206 bones that make up the skeletal system. • Bones are made up of osteocytes. • It also includes joints.

  3. Function • It provides support and shape to the body • It protects the internal organs • It allows movement and anchorage of muscles • It provides mineral storage

  4. Pathophysiology • Arthritis • Rickets • Osteoarthritis • Whiplash injury • Slipped disc • gout

  5. Joints • Ball and socket (shoulders) • Hinge joints (elbows and knees) • Pivot joints( allows head to rotate) • Gliding joints (in vertebrae of spine)

  6. Corresponding System • The skeletal system corresponds with the muscular system.
