Learning Outcomes By the end of this workshop, you will be able to: • use the library online catalogue to locate books from the library and other UGC funded libraries for their research projects • use key Chinese databases such as 中國期刊全文數據, 中文集献, 讀秀中文學術搜索 to find journal articles, theses and e-books for their research projects • use the Chinese online tools to find quick references such as word definition, Chinese pronunciation of words, source of the quote, etc. • identify tools to assist in citing sources correctly

  3. Search for Information: Library Catalogue Title: Exact title or the first few words of the title Keyword: Words in all fields Author: Author's name / name of a government body, an organization or a conference Subject: Standardized terms assigned to the record

  4. Library Catalogue-- Advanced Search • Select “Title field”. • Type the keyword “白先勇" in the search box.

  5. Library Catalogue-- Advanced Search Search results related to "白先勇” will be displayed. e.g. 63 results are found

  8. Databases Choose database by the subject e.g. Chinese Studies This page consists of databases, e-books, e-journals, and other electronic resources available on the Library website. Most of the databases can be accessed online in and outside the Library while some can be accessed through dedicated workstations inside the Library only.
