The Titans • There were six titans and six titanesses. • Six brothers and sisters • Who were their parents? • Gaea and Uranus • First three children were Cyclopes: • Lightning, Thunder and Thunderbolt • Huge ugly one eyed monsters • All three worked as smiths • Each was banished to the underworld
Banished to the underworld • Gaea had three more sons called the Hecatonchires each with 50 heads and 100 arms. • Uranus threw these monstrous creatures into the underworld. • Gaea became angry and wanted her children back. • She came up with a plan….
Courage • Gaea gave a sickle to her sons to kill their father. • Cronus was the only one that had the courage to kill their father. • He removes his fathers manhood.
