Just given out on the 19th of December 2020, the first ever Filmfare OTT awards saw a long list of winners and an even bigger list of nominations, thanks to the sea of services and products launched and consumed during the global lockdown period.

  4. Over the Top (OTT) streaming platforms redefined the way we consume entertainment content. With the world put on pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional media industry had come to a complete shutdown due to the closure of theatres. As a result, a majority of people took to online services to satisfy their hunger for new and quality content as a measure to keep going through the pandemic. Why OTT Awards

  5. Recognising the popularity of the change in viewership patterns, Filmfare decided to honour achievements on OTT platforms with a process solely dedicated to this field. They wanted to recognise talent not only in the acting field but also in technical areas like cinematography, editing, production design, sound design, etc. and continue with the Filmfare tradition where the jury consisted of industry experts.   6. PaatalLok and The Family Man, both from the stable of Amazon Prime Originals, were big winners on the night. PaatalLok bagged the Best Series and Best Director awards, whereas The Family Man was awarded the Critics equivalent of both the awards. Best Actor in a Drama Series (Male) was also won by JaideepAhlawat for PaatalLok and by Manoj Bajpayee for Best Actor in a Drama Series (Critics) for his role in The Family Man. Awards

  7. The award ceremony was a huge success in commending the efforts of the OTT industry, which is booming all across the world. With the national audience, media outlets and entertainment news industry all glued to their screens for every new piece of content, Filmfare scored a homerun by being the first to recognise their efforts.
