  3. Purpose • Allow flexibility • Allow different configurations for users

  4. Keys • CIA DESIGN • CIA COMPOSE • CIA SITE MANAGER

  5. How to get to Design Mode • Put cursor on blue bar at top • Right click • Click on design mode

  6. Design Mode • Now there is a design drop down box • Each component is outlined in black

  7. Edit Object Properties • Click inside any object • Choice list of actions • View Properties • Grid to help place objects when desired

  8. Edit Object Properties • Can change color • Change Captions • Properties of the Notifications Object

  9. Edit Tab Properties • Right click on tab name • Can add objects to tab • Can delete objects from tab • Properties can be edited

  10. Tab Properties • The tab editor is at the bottom • Can re-order the tabs • Add new tabs • Change colors and captions

  11. Tab Properties • + Is for adding tabs • - is for deleting tabs • Up and down arrows move the location of the tab • Tab can be locked so no one else can change it • Hit apply when finished

  14. Objects • Using add object • Objects found in folders • List is very long • Objects can be added as needed

  15. Adding a Tab • Choose tab properties • Click + to add a tab • Name the tab • Click apply • Click OK

  19. The Object is added but needs alignment Right click and align. Choose the best option. Or, double click to automatically align to ALL Adding Object to a tab

  21. Saving Changes • Save settings will make a personal template • Save as template makes a system template • If you overwrite an existing template, it will question you first

  22. SAVE AS TEMPLATE creates a template available for everyone Save Settings saves an individual template for you only

  23. Desktop Properties • On same menu are desktop properties • Can edit caption, color, font

  24. Can add a macro so that the user name appears at the top Code is on the caption line $(user.name) Macros

  25. You can also redesign the menus There is a refresh option that can be added Customize Menus

  26. Add a new menu called Refresh using the + sign

  27. Move it to the correct place using the Up and Over Arrows

  28. Click on the lightning bolt Enter the action $(session.eventfirelocal,’REFRESH’,’’) The last two are 2 single quotes, not a double quote Don’t forget to accept the action

  35. Entering Design Mode • Click on the Medsphere Icon, then click “Design Mode”. • Alternately, you may use the CTRL-D key combination to enter design mode. Medsphere Icon Design Mode option

  37. Creating a Template • While in Design Mode, click on the “Design” menu at the top of the window. • In the “Design” menu, click “Clear Desktop”, then confirm your selection. Design Menu Cleared Desktop

  38. Creating a Template (Continued) • Right-Click on the VueCentric Desktop, then click on “Add Object” in the pop-up menu. • Expand the “Name” category in the “Add an Object” dialog.

Creating a Template (Continued) • The “Tabbed Notebook” object is used to create a tabbed, multipage control. • Select “Tabbed Notebook” from the “Add an Object” dialog”, then click the ADD button. Double-clicking the “Tabbed Notebook” line will have the same effect as clicking the ADD button.

  40. Creating a Template (Continued) • Double-clicking any added control will cause the control to expand to fill the desktop as shown below.

Creating a Template (Continued) • Right-Click on the Tabbed Notebook object, then click on “Properties” in the popup menu. • In the Tabbed Notebook’s properties dialog, click on the “Tab Editor” button. • Add a tab to the tabbed notebook by clicking the “+” symbol. Enter the new tab’s title. Click the OK button when finished.

  42. Creating a Template (Continued) • Select the first tab, right click on the desktop, then click “Add Object” in the popup menu. • Select an object to add to the tab, then click the ADD button. Double-click the control to expand it on the tab. • Repeat for the second tab.

  44. Creating a Template (Continued) • To save the template, click on the “Design” menu, then click the “Save as Template” menu option. Enter a name for the template on the “Save as Template”, then click the SAVE button.

  45. Creating a Template (Continued) • To exit design mode, click on the Medsphere Icon, then uncheck the “Design Mode” menu option. Alternately, you may use the CTRL-D key combination to exit design mode.

  47. Editing a Template • For this example, we will be adding a “Suicide Form” object to the %PROVIDER template. • Enter design mode and select the template you wish to edit by clicking on “Restore from Template” in the Design menu.

  48. Editing a Template (Continued) • Right-click on the tabbed notebook, then select “Properties” from the popup menu. Right-click here

  49. Editing a Template (Continued) • Click on the “Tab Editor” button in the Tabbed Notebook’s properties dialog. • Click the “+” (add) button to add a tab. Enter a title for the new tab, then click the OK button.

  50. Editing a Template (Continued) • Switch to the tab you just created by clicking on the tab header. • Right-click on the blank tab, the select “Add Object” from the popup menu.
