St Albans Secondary College. Student Voice. Teaching & Learning Framework. The SASC Learning Cycle.
E N D
The SASC Learning Cycle This learning cycle is researched based, and reflects how students learn effectively. It forms the basis for delivering an effective lesson. An excellent practitioner will be able to think flexibly about how to best apply the stages of the learning cycle to their lesson. While all of the stages are important, for an effective lesson Stage 1 and 5 are essential. This is due to the way our brain remembers information at the beginning and end of an activity. Additional resources for each stage are attached, giving suggested times, indicators of excellence and assessment ideas. CREATE THE SUPPORTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT (Engage) • 2.
